Anyone remember this one? Used to enjoy this one a lot. Have seen a couple of excerpts in the last few years but it doesn't seem quite as funny any more...
However I do remember a hilarious sequence with Fred Dagg trying to fix his landrover on the side of the road. A passing motorist stops to help him and Fred Dagg most of the sequence moaning moaning to the guy about the Government.
Eventually the camera pulls back and the helper is revealed to be (then current) Prime Minister Bill Rowling.

I think Fred Dagg was just superb. I must dig out his old recordings and listen again
Remember his best mate was Bruce Bayliss... and all his many sons were called Trev.
Good news id John Clarke is currently getting the best clips from the archives and is going to use them in a comeback series according to Headliners... "We don't know how lucky we are, mate!"

Didn't Fred start off in a sitcom called "Buck House"? A certain well-known television 'current affairs' presenter and his then-wild Afro haircut also featured prominently, I believe...

I'm not sure if the Fred Dagg character was in Buck House, John Clarke certainly was. Fredd Dagg started out in Country Calendar as I understand it. He did the occasional sketch in the show when it was a little more lighthearted than today.

I've just discovered that John Clarke's sister is teaching at Wintec in Hamilton. Small world, isn't it?

Having gone through the 1975 Listeners I have found quite a bit on Buck House and Fred Dagg.
John Clarke played Ken, a student, in Buck House. If you want to know more I have lots.
I also found a really fascinating 1975 interview with Clarke about his life and how he grew up with Fred Dagg from childhood.
