This was a great comedy and variety series, that was half Music Hall (being live in front of an audience) and half 1930's wireless style. The best thing was it starred Billy T. James, and it was pretty much the forerunner to his own show as I remember it.
Also starring were Laurie Dee, Ian Watkin, Craig Scott and the Yandall Sisters (who were three girls who sang harmony like the Andrews Sisters).
Great series.

Are you kidding Dave? I remember this one well too... What was Billy T's character's name again? Dexter Miles or something like that wasn't it?
I see you're studying filmmaking at the Uni. I'm doing the same thing at Wintec - second year and about to start filming a Gothic Horror-type drama very soon...
So what's on up at the Uni?

I'm out of touch with uni at the moment as I'm taking the semester off, and hoping to go back next year to finish my three remaining papers. Which Wintech? Hams?
Gothic Horror? Cool.

I got the full cast list from some 1980's Listeners today:
Billy T. James as Dexter Fitzgibbon Alita as Bunny Levaux Laurie Dee as Tommy Backhouse Craig Scott as Gus Bosanquet Louise Malloy as Marjorie Manners The Yandall Sisters as The Hi Spots Tracey Heath and Kirsten Michael as The Trumpettes and the Radio Times Players were Derek Payne, Ian Watkin and Alistair Douglas
Some interesting side notes: At the same time, Billy's future comedy partner Peter Rowley was then (1980) starring alongside Ray Woolf and David Hartnell in "The New Ray Woolf Show"
Also, Laurie Dee also had his own show, a celebrity game show called "Stumpers". Also regulars in Stumpers were Chic Littlewood and Bunny Rigold. Guests on the 27th of May 1980 were Angela D'Audney, Jennie Goodwin and Ian Mune. On the 3rd of June 80 guests included Marcus Craig and Tony Hazeldine, whoever they were at the time.
Just a few notes of trivia... Cheers
