Who remembers Spot On?
New Zealand's brilliant answer to Blue Peter (BBC)
Life stopped in our household and most others on Sunday afternoons at 5:30pm for Spot On. It was brilliant.
They went through a number of presenters, can you recall them all? I remember:
Danny Watson Margaret [somebody-or-other] Marcus [somebody-or-other] Phil Keoghan
Who else was there?
And who remembers the Spot On dog? It was the symbol they used in the opening credits and all their merchandise, etc. It was a weird shaggy thing that looked crossed between a sheep and a dinosaur from memory, but was apparently a dog!
Have you got any favourite Spot On moments? Or do you remember other presenters?

Remember Danny, Phil and Margaret (if she was the dark-haired woman).
There was also a guy called (I think) Michael Wilson - who I remember being a bit eccentric and a bit of a nutter...

That's right, Michael Wilson - didn't he have curly dark hair and glasses? I think he later made appearances on What Now occasionally during Steve Parr's days through to the Simon and Jacquie days. If it's who I'm thinking of, Michael Wilson was also married to a TV celeb, but I can't recall her name.

I looked Michael Wilson up on IMDb - there are understandably loads of actors with that name but one is listed as being in Fred Dagg's film "Dagg Day Afternoon" so it must be the same guy. I'd love to see that film, Fred Dagg was cool. He's making a comeback soon too according to Headliners - cool, can't wait. That's him in my avatar.

Yeah - I know Fred Dagg well. Have created a new thread: "The Wonderful World of Fred Dagg" in the comedy section.

Yes, "Spot On" was a must for our family. I remember Shona Laing singing "I Love My Feet" live in 1975 before she left to go to London, a jersey-knitting competition, and many other wonderful things... Phil Keoghan was a prefect at my school, although he was called "Philip" then!

I can now confirm names of the hosts whom I couldn't remember before" Marcus Turner and Margaret Campbell
Here's one for testing the memory... Do you recall what happened when a series of Spot On finished? TVNZ had another series that used to fill the gap in between series of Spot On. It was called How's That? and starred Stu Dennison (of Nice One Stu fame), with his friends Ian, John and Jim. I do not know what the latter's last names were.
How's That was produced by Rex Simpson, and the Listener billed the show as "with gags, games, puzzles, people and loads of laughs".
